Look out hide the vegiemite........... In Prague upon arrival we get lost as well as get pulled up by the Czech police, they said l broke the road rules in Prague.. I had to bribe them to get released, 20 euros but the nice policemen gave us a police escort to the motel.....20 euros well spent.

Berlin's Museum of technology lots of wonderful things to see from the first computer to one of the first trains great place for kid's Kadel loved it he couldnt get enough, by the end of our 2hr stay we had to carry him out screaming...............

Loneliness 1942- by Felix Nusssbaum (1904-1944). Felix was on a scholorship in Rome when Hitler came to power not returning to Germany but fleeing to France where he and his wife were later arrested by German troop's. They were both deported to Auschwitz where they were murdered by the Nazi's.

The Star of David symbol's- found in a hospital after the war they were sold to the Jewish people and made to sow these stars on thier clothing by the nazi's.........

Went to a wonderful show at the Guggenheim Gallery by William Kentridge a animation/puppet show set up on a small stage, quite amazing. You may have seen Kentridge's work on Eat Carpet...

The botanical gardens in Rome -Villa Orto Botanico, housing plants from all over the world with many of the trees being well over hundreds of years old, even found some grasses from Tasmania............It was a wonderful place we spent many hours here.

We stumbled across this wonderful little area of Rome, Trastevere which had miles of little allies and streets lined with shops and cafes. We would have loved to have spent more time in this area, need a good week to take it all in................

The Konzerthaus National Threater built in 1821 by the Prussians...

Very scary punk pub on the corner of our street, went in the other night for a beer got some funny looks wasn't wearing the appropriate attire- mohawk, nose rings, leathers etc. This pub the Trinktuefel is open 24 hrs from fri-sun always full, playing cool English/Australian/American punk music.

Brandenburg Gate -start of the tour.

Holocaust Memorial- it is like a maze taking up a whole block it has an underground information centre providing historical facts of the holocaust. The entrance is hard to find it is located within the momorial there is no signs or arrows you just have to find it for yourself.

This is the site of Hitlers bunker just a carpark now. The people of Berlin didnt want this site to have any reference or momorials at this location they just want to forget Hitler rule, also the Holocaust Momorial is a block away from this site.

Checkpoint Charlie was the main gate way for allies, other non- Germans and diplomats from 1961 to 1990; when the wall came down. In October 1961 US and Soviet tanks faced off at this spot, almost bring the world to the brink of WW III.

Kd has a listen to some fine busking out the front of the Konzerthaus - National Theater.

Bebelplatz square momorial is the site of the first organised book burning by the Nazi party torching authors works considered subversive....

The Berliner Dom- Berlin Cathedral built in 1750.

East side Gallery is an open air gallery and is the longest best preserved section of the Berlin Wall -1300m. The gallery was created by international artists in 1990 and is slowly becoming degraded up vandals making their make on a peace of history.....................

Haus der Kulturen der Welt - House of World Culture, nicknamed "the pregnant oyster".

The Reichstag is not a museum as l once mentioned its the German Parliament House. It was the symbol and building that gave power the Nazi party. In 1933 it was destroyed by fire, Hitler blaming the communists asking the goverment at the time to give all powers to the Nazi party to crush the communists from their so called attack- but it was all a hocks Hitler started the fire and became leader over night. It was all apart of is big plan, the rest is history.............

The Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedachtniskirche circa 1895 was distroyed by british bombing in WWII-1943. Now stands as a memorial and reminder of the war Pictures inside show that very building surrounding the church was totally flattened .

Melbourne based band the dirty three on their europe ian tour in berlin at the Mugg club in mitte.

what a great show tops live sound- the venue was in an under ground bunker/seller about 300 years old with about 100-150 onlookers............

after the gig lost at the Alexanderplat station( photo-fernsehturm tower) in the middle of berlin, trainless cold and a little bit tipsy no other choose but to walk back to kreuzberg -1hr later with lots of map attention home and not so tipsy!

This shop owner is just looking for trouble.............................

Tv tower (Fersehturm) over looks the city, flying into berlin you can see it towering through the clouds like a single tree in a stripped bare paddick.

Just chill'n on a chilly afternoon, berlin's Reichstag Musuem.
This is the Reichstag dome on top of the Museum you walk to the top via a spiraling board walk within the dome.

Brandenburg gate the most visited attraction in berlin, very large like everything else in berlin with a Roman Empire touch.

day 3 finding our feet

Lots of berlin' ions seem to get around on bikes, a very popular means of transport..

How's this tattoo shop wall pretty impressive, you find murals in the most oddest places- will endeavor to show you more........

Graffiti is rife all through berlin it appears on almost everything there wouldn't be a single truck without a spot of graffiti. If not it would be straight off the show room floor!

The architecture is just amazing every little street and alley reveals a hidden treasure.

First taste of German beer Augustiner made by Monks in Munich since 1328 came highly recommended from a well known local some of us know........."nice isn't tam."

A lovely warm lentil soap- yum yum in the tummy tums made with spice and vigor by tam! With some rye bread on the side and the essential liquid gold.

Tam's looking for a laundry mat with not much luck all down to the last of our private part warmers. Tam also sneaks in abit of work on the side!
