The Mvsei Vaticani and more

A car on fire in the middle of Rome just around the corner from the hotel we stayed at......

Wonderful paintings and tapestry's dating back to the 14th and 15th century cover the walls, floors and ceilings.............

Back at the Basilica, see the status on top of the Basilica they stand about 5m high giving you some perspective of the over all size of this grand building..........

Michelangelo's Dome (circa 1590) soars 120m above the alter taking 43 years to complete finished long after Michelangelo's death..........

The splendid Pieta' sculptor of Michelangelo that he completed when he was 24 years old and is the only peace of his work that bares his signature................

The botanical gardens in Rome -Villa Orto Botanico, housing plants from all over the world with many of the trees being well over hundreds of years old, even found some grasses from Tasmania............It was a wonderful place we spent many hours here.


We stumbled across this wonderful little area of Rome, Trastevere which had miles of little allies and streets lined with shops and cafes. We would have loved to have spent more time in this area, need a good week to take it all in................
